James Palethorpe at State Short Course X-Country
James Palethorpe had a fantastic run last week at the state short course cross country.

After a steady start, James put in a blistering 2nd lap of the 3 lap course, overtaking many of his closest rivals from previous cross countries this year. He finished the tough 7.5km race in 6th place in the highly competitive M35+ category in a time of 28:40.

Three of Eppings runners braved heavy rain, hail and strong winds at last weeks wet met cross country race.

Elena Cubban was the first to get drenched, winning her age group extending her lead at the top of the short course W55+ competition. In the next race, James Palethorpe dropped his 1st point of the season narrowly finishing 2nd to Doug Kelley in the highly competitive medium coarse M30+ race.

IMG_2998Cropped.jpgIn the medium course, Matt Hicks is heading for a silver in the M20, whilst James Palethorpe is coming in 3rd for the M30 - the series most competitive category - after not losing a point in all races he's competed in this season.

Winery Running Festival
Congrats to two Epping members for competing in the hunters toughest road race last weekend

Doug Kelley managed to nip round the hilly half marathon course (coming in 7th in 1:24:41) just in time to join partner Lauren in the hilly 10.5km, where they both finished the equally hilly run in just over 1 hour.
